Basic Biographical Details Name: | Frederick William Morgan | Designation: | | Born: | 27 July 1908 | Died: | 10 April 1975 | Bio Notes: | Frederick William Morgan was born on 27 July 1908, the son of Alexander Morgan, tailor, and his wife, Evangeline Emslie. He attended the three-year certificate course at Aberdeen School of Architecture from September 1928. He was articled to Harbourne Maclennan in August 1931, and continued attending evening classes at the School throughout his apprenticeship, obtaining an exemption from the final diploma exam in June 1934. By the end of that year he had entered the office of William John Taylor in Inverness. He was admitted ARIBA on 11 March 1935, his proposers being Taylor, Robert Leslie Rollo and Arthur Hay Livingstone Mackinnon. Morgan was also a qualified town planner.
In the 1960s Morgan worked in the City Architect's Department in Aberdeen. He was based at 225 Great Western Road, Aberdeen from at least 1950 until immediately prior to his death on 10 April 1975. His brother Emslie Alexander Morgan who was elected ARIBA in 1947 had joined the practice by 1950.
Morgan died at 26 Cornhill Road, Aberdeen, on 10 April 1975.
