Bio Notes: David Andrew was born c.1870, the son of David Andrew, schoolmaster, Gavenburie School, Old Kilpatrick and his wife Jessie. He studied at Glasgow School of Art 1887-89. He was articled to John McLeod of Glasgow in 1886, and after McLeod's death in 1888 completed his apprenticeship with Clarke and Bell, remaining as junior assistant for two years afterwards. He then became assistant to Glasgow Office of Public Works Architectural Department until commencing independent practice in July 1897 in Glasgow. His travels were limited to brief holiday periods within Britain. He was admitted FRIBA on 2 December 1907, proposed by George Bell, John James Burnet and James Miller.

David Andrew died in or shortly after 1914.
