Bio Notes: Thomas MacKelvie Alexander trained at the School of Art, the Technical College and the University, all in Liverpool. He is included in the Dictionary of Scottish Architects at present because he obviously had Scottish roots and may have been brought up in Scotland. From 1903 until 1907 he served his articles with an unspecified Liverpool practice, transferring to become assistant to Harris & Hobson. In 1912 he spent three years as a surveyor with the Inland Revenue and in 1915 moved to become a senior architectural assistant with HM Admiralty Works Department in Perth (???). In 1919 he returned to Liverpool to take a post as senior assistant with Woolfall & Eeles. He was admitted ARIBA on 3 December 1923 his proposers being T E Eeles, Charles W Harris and Lawrence Hobson. He was elevated to FRIBA in 1936. He was also a Fellow of the Surveyors' Institution.

He died on 8 May 1964.
